Psychobilly Nightmare at the Sidebar! Feat. the Koffin Kats!

See also

Though the earth may have frozen over, the Kats will still rise from their Koffins for another hellish show this Friday. Just four months ago these legendary psychobilly’s came to the Sidebar in order to usher in the spookiest season of them all: Fall. The brown and orange leaves have since decayed and snow now sits upon the skeletal branches. It is time for these hellish rockers to unearth the inferno and send sweat dripping down our spines as we let their maniacal melodies take control!

Opening acts include JJ Damage and the Bandits, The Sonic Creeps, and PAIN!

Aptly described as “surf outlaw dance music”, J.J. Damage and the Bandits is a trio of rockers out of Cheverly, Maryland. Members include front-man J.J. Damage (vocals/guitar), Dave Andrews (drummer), and Joshi Jinx (standup bass). With their spot on vocal harmonies and downright energy evoking melodies, these bandits will play a key factor in rousing the crowd for a fright night filled with legendary debauchery.

The Sonic Creeps, a band that has been on the rise in the Baltimore music scene, will also be performing Friday night. Consisting of members Johnny Shivers (vocals), Ricky National (guitar/back-up vocals), and Colin (drums/back-up vocals). Though relatively new to the Baltimore music scene, the unmistakable ability of these musicians is due to their instrumental dexterity, their extensive experience within the music scene, and a downright inspiring dedication to the evolvement of the band. Simply said, The Sonic Creeps embody the horror in punk.

A band that needs no introduction to the Baltimore music scene is PAIN! Though the line-up has fluctuated over the past four years, their prominence as great horror-rockers across the east-coast has not faltered. The band has opened for legends such as the Misfits, Orgy, and The Causalities, among others, as well as securing a spot in Vans Warped Tour. This hellish quintet is made up of members Timmy Pain (vocals), Baron Von Pain (bass), Nekro Pain (drums), Fester Pain (guitar), and Darko Pain (guitar). Part of the appeal of PAIN! is their dedication to their fans, on and off stage. This is apparent in how they strive to get the crowd involved during their live sets. So be prepared to sing-along with Timmy as he offers up his mic, urging you to chant along to their catchy choruses.

A favorite act at the Sidebar Tavern is The Koffin Kats. Coming to Baltimore only a few times a year, the band never fails to fill the venue with avid fans who count down the days till their next appearance. One of the most prominent Psychobilly bands around, these guys have toured not just across the States, but around the world! Their lyrics are horrific, their melodies maniacal, and their stage performance is to die for, (excuse the cliché). Listen to one of their hits, such as “Graveyard Tree” or “Koffin Kat Rock” and you will find yourself scrambling for your wallet, purchasing your tickets online in no time.
