Psychic Medium Susan Norgren talks about people's misconceptions on the spiritually gifted.
Susan Norgren is a psychic medium and the author of several books on the subject. In this latest installation of a recent interview I had with her, we talk about the common misconceptions people have about being spiritually gifted.
Dawn Gagnon: What is some of the biggest misconceptions about being spiritually gifted?
Susan Norgren: The most glaring misconception about developing your spiritual skills and abilities is that the “church” says it is not good, but rather a hindrance to spiritual development. This is absolutely the most overused brainwashing trick certain churches pour down on their congregation. Unfortunately, if you belong to one of these religious institutions, you will find that what they preach limits you in developing your spirituality.
Religion in and of itself is not bad. The problem is man created religion. Man has an agenda. The leaders wanted power and control, If you used your psychic / spiritual abilities, you would be as powerful as the leaders. They wanted to teach their beliefs as the one and only way. So slowly over the years it became bad to be anything other than what you were taught to believe and the followers became less powerful. The conversion had begun.
Here's a list of Susan's on the various misconceptions:
Misconception 1- Having an ego is bad.
If you did not have an ego, you would not care if you moved forward or not. It is GOOD to have self-esteem, which is a healthy ego.
Misconception 2- Developing your spiritual gifts is wrong.
Developing all of your spiritual abilities creates a whole person mind, body and soul.
Misconception 3- In order to be spiritually gifted you are wrong to have what some spiritual people call negative feelings and emotions.
This is a judgment they have made. It is ok to feel and experience all of our human emotions. The ideal is to release those emotions that don’t serve your best interests and outcomes.
Misconception 4- If you are psychic or intuitive, you are a spiritual person.
Not everyone who is spiritually gifted is a good person. Intuition or being psychic is a spiritual gift, but it is up to the person to use it responsibly and choose their spiritual journey. Many a con has used these exact abilities to defraud or harm people. Just because someone is psychic does not mean they act in a spiritual way.
Misconception 5- That you should know the answers. When you think you know all the answers this too shall pass and the learning curve begins again.
