Time reports that the overnight sensation PSY has announced Friday that he is releasing a follow-up to his tremendously successful “Gangnam Style” that literally went viral.
The South Korean rapper will release his next single this spring. He is due to perform a concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium the night of the release on April 13 where he will perform the tune and share it with the world live via YouTube.
Last fall, the performer stated that his next single would be in English. Who knows whether this is a step in the right direction or not.
Of course, PSY is hoping to live up to his big hit but many fans have low expectations. Many believe that he is going to pan out to be a one hit wonder.
“The thing is, it’s too much pressure to overcome ‘Gangnam Style,’” he said. “It’s really hard.”
Let’s just hope for his sake that he’s enjoyed the ride thus far because like anything else, all good things must come to an end and if skeptics are right, his days are numbered.
Then again … his next attempt may pack a punch after all. Fortunately, the world won’t have to wait very long to find out.
