The PlayStation Vita’s price has been cut in Japan, reports Jonathan Toyad at Gamespot, on Feb. 18.
This price cut will include both the 3G and wifi-only models of the system. The price for the wifi-only model will drop from the current ¥24,980 ($266) to ¥19,980 ($213). The price for the 3G model, which was originally ¥29,980 ($319), will also go down to ¥24,980. The original prices for both models were their launch-date prices.
The price cut will be effective starting on Feb. 28, 2013.
The price cut follows a recent flurry of rumors regarding a newer version of Sony’s handheld. Just last week there was a report that this new version of the system will have both USB and HDMI ports. These rumors will possibly be addressed on Sony’s Feb. 20 event, taking place in New York City, where they are presumed to be unveiling their new PlayStation 4 console.
