PSU discusses water testing under the Food Safety Modernization Act

Water availability and water quality is an important topic among preppers. The Penn State Water Resources Extension is offering a free webinar on Water Standards and Testing Requirements Under the Food Safety Modernization Act. If pathogenic microorganisms are present in water used in irrigation or even in frost control, they can pose a significant risk to the safety of fresh produce.

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is a reform, basically, of the food safety laws. President Barak Obama signed the FSMA into law on 4 January 2011. The hope of the Act is to change our focus from responding to contamination to actually preventing it.

How to participate?

The hour long live webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, 30 April at noon. Go to https://meeting.psu.edu/water1. Sign in as a “guest”.
