Those hoping to take today's PSN release of of the PS1's Persona 2: Eternal Punishment on the go are in for an unpleasant surprise: it doesn't work. Members of Sony's official Playstation Vita message boards voiced their concerns when they discovered that, while everything functioned perfectly on PS3, the RPG wouldn't download to their PSP or Vita systems.
Quick to respond, Sony's Morgan Haro returned with the following:
"Some of you have noticed that Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, a PS One Classic that is playable on PS3, does not play on PSP and PS Vita. The title should have been set up to be compatible on PSP and PS Vita, however, at this time, it will not be able to be downloaded on to these devices. We're on it!"
Haro doesn't anticipate this to be an overnight fix, however. Though he had no working ETA, he said that if he had to put a time to the repair process, "worst case scenario, it may be a few weeks."
Tough break, Atlus fans. Maybe another round of Persona 4 Golden while you wait?
