Sony announced today that users won’t be able to connect to the Playstation Network tomorrow morning due to special maintenance being done to the Playsation Store. The maintenance window will begin early Monday morning and extend almost until tomorrow afternoon, assuming the process goes smooth and doesn’t end up needing extended (as is a common occurrence for network maintenance).

Fans will unlikely be able get on the Playstation Store during this time and online features of games as well as online apps for the Playstation 3 such as Netflix and Hulu will also likely experience intermittent outages during the maintenance that will leave Playstation 3 owners unable to connect to such services. Sony is informing gamers that they may receive the following message while connecting attempting to connect and this is due to the PSN maintenance.

During this maintenance period, you may receive a message that states “Sony Entertainment Network is undergoing maintenance” when attempting to access the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home.

Like many other online services, the Playstation Network requires maintenance downtime to ensure the systems are running properly.
