Psalm 67: That Your way may be known

Psalm 67 speaks of a saving health. There is a deliverance for God's people and in God's Way. Yet few see it. His people rarely show it. Some of His people never see it. But if we plead to God that He bless us by unveiling His face to us, if we are truly able to see God's personality and God's love, we will be able to make God's way known upon earth. This is the mercy we ask from God, a mercy for the sake of others and not for our own sakes.

Psalm 67 asks that God will show Himself to everyone on earth, that all the people in all the world should praise Him. What a prayer! It's a circular kind of prayer. Bless us with the mercy of seeing you, Lord, that we may show your power to save to people around the earth, that the people may praise God for His goodness, that all in the community of faith around the world -- and even those who aren't-- will praise and bless God, and then we ourselves will be blessed by God for causing Him to be blessed throughout the nations.

1{To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song.} God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

2That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

3Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

4O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

5Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

6Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

7God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
