Sony also announced today that the PS4 would likely be released at a loss, but the company expects PS Plus subscriptions and launch title purchases to push console into a profitable range.
The combination of the console, launch title and PS Plus would run consumers roughly $460 at the console’s release, creating the assumption the PS4 is being released at a $60 loss, though Ito did not say any further on the matter.
The PS4 hits shelves in North America on Nov. 15, Europe on Nov. 29 and Japan in February.
