On Friday, Feb. 8, a report surfaced from VideoGamer.com that claims Sony Computer Entertainment will have a new entry of the “Killzone” franchise ready to launch along the PS4 later this year.
The website further details that “Killzone 4” will likely be announced on Feb. 20 during Sony’s PlayStation Meeting in New York City where the company is expected to announce the PlayStation 4 along with revealing software – there has been some speculation that a release date and price won’t be announced until E3 2013, however.
VideoGamer.com shares that their industry source claims that “Killzone 4” could be a launch window title for the PS4 which is slated for a launch during the 2013 holiday season.
At E3 2005, when Sony Computer Entertainment unveiled the PlayStation 3, Guerrilla Games’ “Killzone 2” was a title shown to showcase the PlayStation 3’s graphical capabilities. As such, a new “Killzone” title would be a fine way to demonstrate the awesome power of the PS4 and to impress the masses.
“Killzone 3” released on the PlayStation 3 in 2011, so it is about time a new entry sees release.
