With the expected announcement of the PS4 coming tomorrow at Sony's much-anticipated PlayStation event, many new interesting details regarding this system is being released from various sources. According to a report posted by the Wall Street Journal today, it appears that the PS4 may feature a very deep implementation of social networks and the recently acquired Gaikai service, which was purchased by Sony last year.
As quoted by IGN, Sony has been preparing the Gaikai technology to be implemented into the PS4 since the service was acquired last year. It is stated that the new system from Sony will take advantage of this service in order to play PS3 titles, which will allow the system to feature an indirect approach to backwards compatibility.
Speaking on the use social networks with the PS4, is stated that Sony will be pushing heavily on the interactivity with various popular social networks through this system. The PS4 will allow players to share various achievements within titles through social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. In addition to this, users will also have the ability to share gameplay footage directly to their profile channels on YouTube.
