Jack Tretton has provided more details regarding the stock availability of the PS4. During the podcast interview with the Official U.S. Playstation Blog on Dec. 13, the chief executive officer of Sony Computer Entertainment was asked by many fans if the next-generation system will be able to meet consumer’s demand for the holiday season.
Jack Tretton confirmed that his company will be sending additional shipments up until Christmas. He also promised “great supplies” for the PS4 from the period following the holiday season up until the end of the company’s fiscal year, which is on March 31st of 2014. You can check out shots of the next-generation system in the slideshow to the left of this article and the comments below:
There’s additional product coming into the marketplace between now and the end of the holidays. Our fiscal year ends at the end of March 31st, there will be great supplies coming post Christmas.
The chief executive officer also addressed criticisms as to why Sony Computer Entertainment was able to ship out more than one million units at launch and not much afterwards. Jack Tretton stated that the launch units took months to accumulate and that the company is working on a daily basis to manufacture as many PS4 systems as possible.
The PS4 ended up being the best-selling platform for November in the United States after coming out in the middle of the month. Sony Computer Entertainment’s next-generation system beat out the Xbox One, other consoles in addition to the handheld systems.
