PS4 and the DualShock 4 were among the items to be unveiled last week in New York City, and one gaming developer provided his thoughts about what he saw.
According to a report from TheWebit yesterday, former Epic Games pro Cliff Bleszinski talked about what he thought of Mark Cerny's performance in his part of the PlayStation 4 event.
"Mark Cerny is a great guy, anyone in the business will attest to this. He’s a vet who is STILL going at it as hard as ever.
"He’s got that childlike sense of wonder about him, and he was perfect on stage. I wanted to hear what he had to say.
"He was like an American Molyneux last night with his ability to keep you hanging on every sincere word.
"That said, while I think the new game “Knack” looks interesting I can’t help but wonder why one would make a younger skewing title such as that for the early cycle of a console when the first buyers are usually the earliest adopters who are the older crowd with the most money," Bleszinski said.
Bleszinski then mentioned that Sony had nailed the design of the newly announced DualShock 4 controller.
"It looks like Sony has FINALLY fixed their controller. The thumb sticks will now embrace your digits instead of fighting them the entire time.
"The thing looks SOLID instead of like a cheap knock off controller that would break the second you got frustrated with a God of War quicktime and tossed the damned thing.
"The small touchscreen is a nice addition, but one has to wonder about the location of it. Might be hard to get to considering where the sticks are," Bleszinski said.
