After leaking out the specs for the Xbox 720 last week, VGleaks posted on Jan. 28 what may the official specs for the PS4. You can check out some fan-made concept designs of the PS4 and a few shots of what may be the new controller that was recently patented by Sony in the slideshow at the top of this article.
The next-generation system will be using the Liverpool SOC that will have a CPU containing eight Jaguar cores at 1.6 Ghz, R10XX- based GPU in addition to 4 GB of RAM (3.5 GB of which will be used for games). You can find the full details below (courtesy of VGleaks):
LIVERPOOL SOC
- Custom implementation of AMD Fusion APU Arquitecture (Accelerated Processing Unit)
- Provides good performance with low power consumtion
- Integrated CPU and GPU
- Considerably bigger and more powerful than AMD’s other APUs
CPU:
- Orbis contains eight Jaguar cores at 1.6 Ghz, arranged as two “clusters”
- Each cluster contains 4 cores and a shared 2MB L2 cache

The PS4 will launch with a 500 GB hard drive, three controller inputs (new DualShock controller, dual camera and Playstation Move) as well as a Blu-ray drive speed of 6x on the outer half with somewhere between 3.3x and 6x on the inner rings of the disc. Sony is projected to make a formal announcement on the PS4 in the next several months. The next-generation system has an estimated release date of late 2013 in North America.
