Ever since Sony released the popular trailer that teases the PlayStation event that is set to take place on Feb. 20, many fans of the PlayStation brand have become overwhelmed with anticipation, as it seems that the next generation PlayStation, the PS4, will most likely be announced at this event. Although Sony has not confirmed or denied this announcement, video game analyst Michael Pachter believes that Sony “is 100 percent certain to announce the PlayStation 4” at this event on Feb. 20, as stated in an article posted by Bloomberg yesterday.

Speaking about the possibilities that the PS4 will put forward in terms of enhancements within the video game medium, Pachter believes that “they'll be able to put a lot more characters on the screen and allow hyper-realistic games.”

While current generation consoles render most games at 30 frames per second, with only a few titles hitting 60 frames per second, Pachter believes that the PS4 will be supplied with processors that will have the ability of rendering games at an astounding 240 frames per second.

The ability to render real-time gameplay at 240 frames per second is a very wild statement. While it is technically possible to run a title at 240 frames per second, major downsizes will have to be made in the graphical department of said video game. With this being said, it is most likely that the PS4 will target frame rates of 30 to 60 frames per second.

For those of you that are interested, we have listed a few concept photos of the PS4 in the slideshow featured above this article.
