With the announcement that the PS4 would take on the same structure as the PC in terms of architecture, as well as the implementation of 8 GB of RAM, many video game developers expressed great excitement for this upcoming system. In an article posted by PixelEnemy on March 14, Avalanche Studios revealed that development on Sony's next-generation console, the PS4, is a “walk in the park” compared to development on the PS3.
“Compared to the PS3 it’s a walk in the park…I think that’s one of the major lessons Sony learned with the last generation, you have to be accessible for the developers to be successful. Of course, there’s still some quirkiness involved, especially if you’re used to a Windows development environment.”
Although it has not been officially announced, Avalanche Studios is believed to be developing the next installment to the popular “Just Cause” series, as well as a new IP based around “Mad Max.” With a statement such as this, it should be exciting to see what Avalanche brings to the table with their first title on the PS4.
