With the PS4 set to be revealed at the PlayStation event later this month, yesterday Edge Online revealed some new information regarding the controller and the launch of this system. As stated in previous articles, it has been sourced that Sony intends to craft a redesigned controller with the launch of the PS4.
With this being said, sources have revealed that the PS4 will be released with a redesigned controller that will be the same dimensions as the DualShock, but with additional features. These new features will include things such as a touchpad and a share button. The new touchpad will replace the select, start, and PS buttons. It is stated that this touchpad will use the same type of technology that exists on the Vita.
As for the share button that will be implemented into this controller, it is stated that this button will allow screenshots and video to be shared online. This feature will allow users to record the last 15 minutes of action, edit the material, and then post it to the Internet.
The PS4 is set to be released in Japan and US by the end of this year. European territories will receive this hardware of little later, as it is scheduled to be released in early 2014 in Europe. With the official reveal of these system set to take place on Feb. 20, fans can expect much more information to be on the way.
