Several more images have been revealed by Square Enix in regards to their upcoming Luminous game engine, which will most likely be used for the PS4 and Xbox 720. According to a report from 4Gamer on Feb. 9, the latest screens show off the various effects the next-generation engine is capable off. Among those featured are blood, refraction, shadow, smoke and more. You can check out the new images in the slideshow at the top of this article.

Square Enix first announced the Luminous game engine at E3 2012. The company shown off their next-generation technology with a real-time “Final Fantasy” tech demo called Agni’s Philosophy. The game engine will most likely be used to power future PS4 and Xbox 720 video games from Square Enix.

Sony will be holding a Playstation Meeting on Feb. 20, which some believe will contain the official unveiling of the PS4. Microsoft is also expected to hold an event to officially announce the Xbox 720.
