PS4 and Xbox 720 launch titles will be visually on par with 'Crysis 3' (Photos)

With the impending announcement of next generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, the Xbox 720 and PS4, gamers are expected to be greeted with titles that showcase a visual fidelity that is on a completely new level compared to current generation systems. In an article that was delivered by CVG on Feb. 8, Crytek believes that gamers can get a glimpse of what the first wave of next generation titles on the Xbox 720 and PS4 will look like by observing a certain title on the high-end PCs.

Obviously, we are speaking about the soon to be released “Crysis 3.” Speaking with CVG, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said “I don't think Crytek can do more on current generation consoles than Crysis 3.

I actually think people will be astonished that next gen launch titles from other companies might not be much different from Crysis 3.”

For those of you that have not caught a glimpse of the visuals that are showcased within “Crysis 3” on a high-end gaming PC, this statement is not, in any way, a let down. When speaking of Crytek's projects for the Xbox 720 and PS4, Yerli insists that their projects will be way above what was achieved on current generation systems, the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Speaking more about the upcoming “Crysis 3,” Yerli expresses his opinion on the unique world that has been created within this title. “Crysis 3 has its own visual identity, [the urban rainforest] is a world that hasn't been done before, that kind of depiction, the quality and level of immersion. I think no game has ever done that kind of setting, it's a visual spectacle.”
