Masachika Kawata has given some insight in regards to next-generation game development, which will most likely include the PS4 and Xbox 720. In an interview with Video Gamer on Jan. 31, the producer of the “Resident Evil” series revealed that developers should focus on gameplay first, followed by the “additional graphics power.” You can check out some screens from the upcoming remastered port of “Resident Evil: Revelations,” as well as some concept images of the PS4 and Xbox 720, in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Masachika Kawata below (courtesy of Video Gamer):
Really it's just important for everyone who's developing for the next generation to focus on the games themselves and the gameplay, and let the additional graphics power and stuff be an amazing bonus.
“Resident Evil: Revelations,” which was produced by Masachika Kawata, is slated to come out for the Nintendo Wii U, PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms in North America on May 21. You can pre-order the survival-horror video game in the following link: “Resident Evil: Revelations”
