Mario Wynands has further discussed the challenges the PS4 and Xbox 720 will potentially faced when both systems are released. According to a report by Now Gamer on Feb. 15, the developer believed that Sony and Microsoft have to streamline the processes of getting next-generation video games to their digital (through the Playstation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace) and retail channels. By doing so, they will be able to attract a wider range of developers and publishers. You can check out some concept designs of the PS4 and Xbox 720 from fans in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Mario Wynands below (courtesy of Now Gamer):
For both retail and digital, Sony and Microsoft have to make it easier to get content on their platforms via streamlined processes, open up to a wider range of developers and publishers, allow a broader set of monetization options.
Sony will be holding a Playstation Meeting event on Feb. 20 in North America. They will most likely officially unveil the PS4 during the occasion. Microsoft is also expected to formally announce the Xbox 720 relatively soon, perhaps at E3 2013. Both next-generation systems are rumored to be coming out in North America sometime in late 2013.
