Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have all released their fiscal reports for the closing months of 2009, and some of the numbers are very interesting. While Microsoft currently holds a 5 million unit lead over Sony in worldwide sales, Microsoft is currently at 38.7 million units, while Sony has 33.5 million, things are looking up for Sony. Sales figures for fiscal year 2009 are much better for Sony than in previous years.

Since April 1st till December 31st, Sony has moved 10.8 million PS3 units. On the competitor's side, Microsoft has moved 8.5 million, while Nintendo continues to dominate with 17.0 million units sold. In the same time frame in 2008, Sony only managed to move 6.9 million units -- nearly a 4 million unit sales growth over last year likely thanks to the Slim and price-cut.

2009 Fiscal Year Breakdown:
Sony PS2: 5.6
Sony PS3: 10.8
Nintendo Wii: 17.0
Microsoft Xbox 360: 8.5

With the fiscal year not ending until March 31st, there is still a lot of time and sales to be done.

so when are games going to follow suit?
the fact that ME2 has sold the same amount of units in 2 weeks, that took uncharted 2 months is kinda sad.
i cant help but wonder what if both uncharted and uncharted 2 sold better would of that changed the game?
i mean sony have been bleeding money ever since they launched the ps3, actually no before.
now their closing down studios, halting projects.
SCEE london studios has halted development on numerous unannounced projects and rumors have it 0ver 60% of the studio is going to be axed.
cant help but wonder how many games we would of seen by now if ps3 games started off selling how they should of.
IF that happened we would of got more first party exclusives, more third party exclusives and more MP games.
not to mention the getaway 3 and 8 days would of not been "put on hold" 50 bucks says thats not true though, 50 bucks says there gone for good.
