Rusian Provodnikov has recently said that he hopes to KO Mike Alvarado and then go after Timothy Bradley to “stop” the “hype train” and then climb the ladder to championship.
"Mile High" Alvarado will make the first defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight title on Saturday night.
This match may be the fight of the year.
Alvarado may alone have 36 hours or so until the "Siberian Rocky" Provodnikov demonstrates why he stands as a No. 1 contender.
Denver, Colorado is a great place to showcase Provodnikov’s management.
Vadim Kornilov and Henry Delgado have been in L.A. with Provodnikov as far back as August helping to prepare him for the world champion.
Provodnikov clearly takes his career seriously. He recently stated that he will die in the ring fighting if necessary.
A conditioning coach recently stated that Provodnikov may be the hardest hitting puncher that he has ever worked with.
Coach Marvin has been working with Conditioning Coach, Gavin Macmillan to prep Provodnikov for Saturday.
This will be the first time HBO has ever televised a fight live from Colorado. It will be broadcast live on HBO beginning 9:45 pm ET and a sellout crowd is expected.
Alvarado has a large fan base. He chatted live with ESPN's SportsNation Thursday Oct. 17.
According to Twitter, Alvarado hosted a Media Workout at Delgado's Boxing and Martial Arts on Oct. 15. Alvarado later thanked to all the media who showed up.

The press has gone haywire with this particular fight. The promotional aspects of it are immense. The amount of supporters for each fighter is even greater.
It will be a refined evening for Provodnikov and Alvarado.
