The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch # 120) played host to the 2014 Provincial Dart tournament on Saturday February 15.

45 teams of four players were eligible to participate in three events comprised of The Main, which is open to all Legion membership, including past, present, and future champions, plus the ladies auxiliary.

The Open draw, as well as the ladies event had everyone from the experienced, to the novice competing for the fun of bringing home a trophy to their local branch and having bragging rights.

"What I love about this dart tournament is that it encourages participation from every level of dart player.

This fun encourages people to continue to be members of their Legion and supports the host.

I am hoping that with the proper support we can bring back this wonderful event to our local Ste Anne de Bellevue Legion, hopefully as soon as 2015" Justin McCormick, of Branch # 91, told The Montreal Times.

The tournament was particularly rewarding to the ladies team, comprised of Debbie Gandey, Susan Martel, Linda Bray, and Charleen Smith, representing Branch # 245 in Dorval, as they captured the ladies division.

“I can’t even remember what we finished with, but I know we had a great time and we were so proud to bring back the championship to our legion 245, that have supported us and believed in us.” said beaming Team Captain, Debbie Gandey, on winning it all.

The Legion trophy sits proudly at 575 Jean- Marie Landry, for the next year, when the ladies will defend their title.
