Providence weather: Great weather continues

See also

Forecast discussion: You could not have asked for a more beautiful day around Providence, and all of New England, on Saturday. The sunshine was bright, the humidity was low, and the temperatures were slightly below seasonable. We reached a high of 75 degrees at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.

This beautiful weather will continue. Right now, a weak disturbance is passing through Southern New England, which created the mostly cloudy skies this afternoon. This disturbance will move offshore during the overnight, and skies will clear. Temperatures will fall into the middle 50’s, so it will be a comfortable night to have the windows open and let the refreshing air into your home.

The dry weather will continue into Tuesday evening. A slow moving cold front will eventually bring some more moisture into the region, increasing our dewpoint temperatures. By Wednesday morning, we will see the risk of some showers and possible thunderstorms. The front appears to be moving faster than what the American model was thinking yesterday. Now, the model came around to the European model’s forecast yesterday. The front will move quickly, with showers ending early Thursday morning. We will return to partly to mostly sunny skies for next weekend. Temperatures will remain seasonable for the last week of June, although it will be a little uncomfortable sleeping Wednesday night without a fan or air conditioning.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low of 55.
Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high of 79. Winds will come from the south-southeast at 7-10 mph.
