Forecast discussion: A low pressure system remaining stationary off the Carolina coastline kept some clouds overhead during the morning hours. However, we did see peeks of sunshine throughout the afternoon. I do not see much change in the forecast for Saturday, as the low pressure system will keep low clouds and some drizzle around Providence into Saturday evening.
By early Sunday morning, a high pressure system out of Canada will help push this low out to sea. We will see more sunshine on Sunday, as well as Columbus Day. So, any outdoor events look fantastic, as the high will continue to influence our weather into the middle of the week.
As we go into Thursday, a low pressure system in the Great Lakes will slowly move towards the east coast. We will see increasing clouds throughout the morning, with showers and light rain developing by the early evening. The precipitation will end by the early morning, with sunny skies by the afternoon. It appears that some much colder air will be moving over the Northeast U.S. for next weekend.
