Forecast discussion: A strong high pressure system over eastern Canada brought a ridge over New England on Saturday. It helped bring bright sunshine, and temperatures warmed into the middle 60’s. So, it was perfect weather to watch or play in a baseball game. The holiday weekend looks delightful, although it will be cooler.
The reason temperatures will be about 10 degrees cooler on Easter is due to the winds. The winds will be turning to the east-southeast. Therefore, the winds will be coming off the cooler ocean temperatures. But, don’t change any outdoor plans. The Easter egg hunt or family barbecue can go on as scheduled. You may just need a warmer coat.
We will continue to have nice weather going into Monday. In case you may be heading to Boston for the marathon, or even competing in it, temperatures will return to the lower 60’s by the afternoon. It will be cool as the runners get started, as temperatures will be in the middle 40’s. Tuesday will be more in the ways of limited sunshine, as a low pressure system comes from the central U.S. We will see some rain developing before midnight, but will end by the middle of Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 50’s.
We will enter the end of the week with bright sunshine, thanks to a high pressure ridge that will stay right over New England. We will see some increasing clouds by Friday evening, as a weak cold front moves towards the east coast. We may see just a passing shower in the morning, before the front begins to move through the area. This will increase the chance for some scattered showers by next Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will remain seasonable through the extended period.
