Providence's own Becky Chace rocks the stage all summer long

Local singer/songwriter Becky Chace has been praised by publications such as The Boston Globe, Motif Magazine, and is a 5 time best female vocalist in the Providence Phoenix best music poll, and with a listen to her music, its easy to see why.

An inspiring artist, her live shows are just as impressive as her resume. Opening for acts such as Joan Jett, Big brother and the holding company, and B.B King to name a few, she puts her all into every performance. Her music, (a mix of folk rock, with strong blues overtones) is soulful as it is powerful. I had the opportunity to see Becky and her band open for B.B King in Newport, and its clear from how the crowd poured in from the bar at the start of her set, that her music had a profound warming affect on those that were there. Definitely a show worth checking out.

Becky's performances are also just as versatile as her band (lineup includes Becky Chace - guitar/vocals, Brian Minisce - Guitar, John Amitrano - bass, and Carrie Johnson -Drums). She also performs as a duo with guitarist Brian Minisce, and as a 3 piece adding bassist John Amitrano. If you want to check out Becky this summer, she's playing shows all over the area. You can catch Becky and Brian every Thursday night at the Kinsale Inn, in Mattapoisett, MA. Friday, August 13th, Becky and her full band are performing at The Speakeasy at Local 121. Show starts at 9:00, doors at 8:30, and tickets are only $5 at the door, and if its like any other Becky Chace show, it promises to be a great time.
