A coalition of 9/11 survivors, family members, first-responders, veterans, and active-duty and reserve military will hold a major protest rally next Saturday to protest Obama administration plans to bring five suspected terrorists to trial in a civilian court in New York City.
The 9/11 Never Forget Coalition yesterday released the details of their planned rally, to be held at noon on Saturday, December 5, on Foley Square in Manhattan.
The coalition's partners include TheBravest.com (a site maintained by New York firefighters remembering the fellows they lost on September 11, 2001), 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America, and Keep America Safe. These organizations came together in the wake of the decision by US Attorney General Eric Holder to place Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, former operations-and-plans chief of Al-Qa'ida (Arabic for "The Base"), and four of his associates to trial in a federal district court in New York City, not more than a block away from the former site of the World Trade Center.
Debra Burlingame, founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America and a board member of Keep America Safe, offered these remarks:
Our rally on Saturday, December 5 will tell Attorney General Eric Holder, President Barack Obama and their supporters in Congress: We will fight you all the way!
