In California, young women under the age of 25 came of age during The Great Recession. Employers paid them minimum wage and gave them part time hours with no benefits, and when they registered at staffing agencies the recruiters lied to them about having job openings so they could put them on their roster in case a client calls. All of the men they dated said that they have a decent job and a normal life, and that they want to get married in a few years, and all of that turned out to be a lie. They were forced to go to school at a community college and the classes that they needed were full. In brief, these women came of age in a third world country called California.
Older adults who should know better have used the "bait and switch" strategy on these women a million times. They have been ripped off everyday since they graduated from high school. Nothing has ever worked out for them.
In the meantime, the state universities have been increasing admission to foreign students because they pay higher tuition. Large companies in Silicon Valley require a college degree for entry level positions such as customer service, which means that native Californians who were born and raised here can't work here.
They're also continuing to import workers, and also outsourcing jobs overseas.
It's unacceptable to allow the next generation to deteriorate, and honest to God, I wish that I could evict everyone who makes life so hard for young people. Just kick them out. Send them to the desert. However, our state government needs their corporate tax money which means that we don't want them to cross the border into Nevada or Arizona; instead we should rent Death Valley to them for free under the condition that they stay there. It's a concentration camp for lowlife companies.
