Thoroughbred racehorse Prospective has been retired from the racing scene and will begin his stallion career with the 2014 breeding season. Prospective is a Grade II winner who will stand at Ocala Stud, owned by J. Michael O’Farrell Jr., in Florida.
We are excited to have the opportunity to stand such a grand-looking son of Malibu Moon as Prospective. With his looks, breeding, race record, and the class he shows, I think breeders will absolutely love him. We look forward to supporting him with plenty of our own mares.
Prospective is the son of Malibu Moon. The handsome dark bay has won seven of his 17 races, winning total earnings of $719,130. A graded stakes winner at both 2 and 3, Prospective was trained by Mark Casse and ran under the colors of owner John Oxley. He won his first race at Woodbine and next won the Grade III Grey Stakes.
As a 3-year-old, Prospective won the Pasco Stakes. Perhaps his best race was the tampa Bay Derby, a Grade II. He had his way in the Victoria Stakes, had a convincing win in the Grade II Ohio Derby, and beat older horses in the Delta Mile Stakes.
Prospective’s stud fee will be announced soon.
