Prospective has been retired from the racetrack, and now John Oxley is heading him to a stallion career in the 2014 breeding season. The location where Prospective will stand is being finalized and is expected to be announced in the near future.
He was bred by Spendthrift Farm and is by Malibu Moon out of the fine mare Spirited Away by Awesome Again. As a yearling, Prospective was purchased by Oxley for $250,000 at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select yearling sale.
Of his 17 races, Prospective won seven and took second in three. He won on dirt and synthetic surface tracks with distances of seven furlongs to 1-1/8 miles. During his short racing career, the four-year-old colt earned a total of $719,130.
Prospective includes the Can-III 2011 Grey Stakes, Grade II 2012 Tampa Bay Derby, the Grade III Ohio Derby, in his victories.
Says Mark Casse about the stallion:
Prospective was a pleasure to train. He was immensely talented, versatile and sound. He possesses a great mind and outstanding conformation, key qualities that should serve him well in his stallion career.
Always sound and healthy, Prospective is a capable, well-bred stallion who is ready to start his career in the breeding shed.
