If Ndamukong Suh is the overall number one prospect for the 2010 draft, we can effectively argue that Gerald McCoy is prospect #1A. This kid is very good, and it seems that his draft stock continues to rise.
He seriously considered entering the 2009 NFL draft, but decided to make a bigger name for himself with the Sooners. All we can say about that is mission accomplished.
It is pretty hard to make a name for on self in the Sooner front four as an underclassmen, and maybe that is why McCoy is so highly though off by NFL Scouts. This kid is an elite athlete, and will dominate at the NFL level.
He is effective in every phase of the defense, he breaks one on one blocks with top notch quickness. He is big, fast, agile, and has good hand work. He can drive O-lineman back into the pocket, and still has the speed to break off blocks to make plays on the ball carrier. He can also chase running backs from hash mark to hash mark.
The only knock on him is he does not always wrap on his tackles, but this kid is a force, and will help a NFL team punish their opponents.
