Prosecutors dropped a bombshell concerning the Elaina Steinfurth case during a hearing for 23-year-old Steven King, the boyfriend of Elaina’s mother. King is charged with obstruction of justice and a judge ordered him to stay behind bars on a $250,000 bond after an Ohio prosecutor claimed that “the defendant lied to police in the course of what is regarded now as a homicide investigation” according to the Toledo Blade.
Prosecutors are turning up the heat on Steven King, and according to NorthwestOhio.com in the early stages of the investigation, King was given a polygraph, however the results have not been made public.
19-month-old Elaina vanished from King’s residence in East Toledo, Ohio June 2nd. She was staying there with her 25-year-old mother Angela Steinfurth, who is currently behind bars for obstruction of justice. Allegations have swirled that Elaina suffered injuries before she went missing and that Angela failed to get her proper medical treatment.
There have also been allegations by a cellmate of Angela Steinfurth who claims Angela confessed to her that she threw her daughter’s body off a bridge, and that Steven King was behind her when she did.
