A young 10-year-old boy is standing trial for killing his neo-Nazi dad and blaming it on the show "Criminal Minds." On Jan. 8, Reuters came out with an update on this trial which is going on now.
Information came out yesterday that the child is blaming the show "Criminal Minds" and says that since he saw someone get away with killing their abusive father on the show he thought he could do the same.
On Monday, prosecutors decided to rest their case and now news is out that the young boy could end up testifying in his own case. The name of the child has now been released as Joseph Hall. If he decides not to testify, then the case could end up going to closing arguments.
Because of his age, they are not trying to find out if he is guilty or not, but simply find out if he knew that murdering his dad was wrong. He could end up in a juvenile facility until he is 23.
