Fresh figs are in season, and are available at any Publix right here in Nashville. In fact, they are even on sale at Publix! Prosciutto wrapped figs are an easy, flavorful and elegant appetizer, so let's get cooking!
Prosciutto Wrapped Figs
- One pound fresh black figs, about 10
- 4 oz Neufchatel cheese
- fresh thyme and rosemary to taste
- ground pepper
- 1/3 pound thinly sliced prosciutto, about 10 slices
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Wash all of the figs and cut off the stem ends. Quarter the figs lengthwise. Mix rosemary, thyme and pepper into the cheese. Place 1/2 teaspoon of cheese onto each fig quarter, and then wrap each fig quarter with a slice of prosciutto. Bake on a sheet pan for approximately 10 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the prosciutto gets a little crispy. Cool them slightly and serve!
