Sept. 13-15: Country Fair at the Farm (link). On Friday night there is a barn dance and horse pull, Saturday and Sunday various draft horse events. Concession stand will be open. This is an annual fundraising event for the farm. Gate fee to the park does not cover this event; separate fee for the County Fair. Order tickets on line (link) or pay at the Farm gate.
Sept. 14: Leaves are Lovely, 10 a.m. This program is part of the popular pre-school program for 3-5 year olds and the their caretaker. Call ahead to sign up. Program is free, includes a short hike, snack, craft and story time. Free program. Meet at the East (back) parking lot.
1-5 p.m. the Prophetstown Village will be open. Tour the buildings or turn volunteer if the staff person is working on a project. Included in the gate fee.
3 p.m. Tree ID hike. Are you collecting leaves for school or for fun? Bring your notebook, phonebook or baggies to organize the leaves you gather. Check at the gatehouse for the meeting place.
Sept. 15: Prophetstown Village, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Come and tour the village or help gather the prairie seeds.
Gate Fee: 6$ for in-state cars, 8$ for out-of -state cars, or free with state park pass. For this weekend only, the farm will also collect a fee for the Country Fair.
