It’s our last week of the hiatus, and promotional photos for “Castle” 5x18 were released on March 13. “The Wild Rover” is going to be a Detective Ryan centric episode, giving us some insight into what Ryan’s life was like before he joined homicide and was instead working in narcotics.
When a man is found dead in an industrial cake mixer, Castle and Beckett trace the murder to an Irish gang in Staten Island and a beautiful bar owner named Siobhan O'Doul (guest star Cara Buono, "Mad Men"). Much to everyone's surprise, Detective Ryan has a complicated history with Siobhan and the Staten Island crime family from his days working undercover in narcotics. When the case hits a dead end, Ryan must go back undercover to expose the killer, complicating his relationship with his wife
Last we had really heard about Jenny Ryan (played by Seamus Dever’s real-life wife Juliana Dever) was in the Valentine's Day episode "Reality Star Struck", where she was beckoning Ryan home quite frequently in their quest to start a family. Jenny makes her on-screen return in “The Wild Rover”, and judging by the promo photos, things are going be getting a little rocky for them. With Siobhan locking lips with Ryan right in front of Jenny, you just know his wife is going to have some choice words about that one (could perhaps be why we see them talking privately behind closed doors in another photo.) It would be nice to see in 5x18 if it's addressed as to whether Ryan and Jenny have had any success in their efforts to get pregnant. This topic could certainly lead into some rather juicy Caskett conversations if their friends are expecting, don't you think?
