Genesis is one of two new alternate art DCI judge foils revealed today Aug. 28, 2013 in an article by Trick Jarret on DailyMTG.com (the other is Vindicate). DCI Judge foils are distributed by Wizards of the Coast during professional "Magic: The Gathering" tournaments and at judge conferences as a special form of compensation to thank judges for volunteering their time. Without their dedication, competitive play wouldn't be what it is today.
Genesis - 4G
Creature - Incarnation (Promo)
At the beginning of your upkeep, if Genesis is in your graveyard, you may pay 2G. If you do, return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
"First through the riftstone was Genesis--and the world was lifeless no more."
--Scroll of Beginnings
Originally printed in "Judgment," Genesis can give decks long-term card advantage. With a Survival of the Fittest or Fauna Shaman, you'll be able to fetch Genesis from your deck and then dump it into your graveyard where it really shines. From there, find the best silver bullet "enters the battlefield" creatures to answer whatever problematic permanents your opponent controls.
Eternal Witness is an MVP alongside Genesis, allowing you to Regrowth each turn and reap an amazing amount of card advantage.
How will you use Genesis?
