"Promised Land" had its premiere during the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival at Berlinale Palast on Feb. 8, 2013, in Berlin, Germany. "Promised Land" was co-written by John Krasinskia and Matt Damon, was directed by Gus Van Sant and stars Matt Damon, Frances McDormand and John Krasinski. The film is in competition with 25 other films vying for Golden Bear award, which will be presented by an international jury.
Gracing the red carpet premiere were Jane Fonda, Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Matt Damon, John Krasinski, director Gus Van Sant and Guerric de Beauregard.
In "Promised Land," a salesman for a natural gas company experiences life-changing events after arriving in a small town, where his corporation wants to tap into the available resources.
"Promised Land" opened in a limited release into U.S. theaters on Dec. 28, 2012 and in wide release on Jan. 2, 2013. The film will also be featured in the Belgrade Film Festival in Serbia later in February.
"Promised Land" is rated R for language and has a run-time of 2 hours and 1 minute.
The Berlin Film Festival runs from Thursday, Feb. 7 to Saturday, Feb 16.
