Prom Expo – Free events from DC public libraries

I am a big fan of DC public libraries because they hold a wealth of amazing free resources. The libraries also host a number of free events and workshops. They are in the midst of Prom Expo – a series of events to get teenagers ready for Prom 2013. Events include jewelry making and “how to walk in heels” classes.

There is also a video contest asking young people ages 13 – 18 to share their best prom ideas. The winners will include one Prom King and Queen that will win free hairstyling, haircuts, a tuxedo, and dress – I not-so-secretly wish I was within the age limits to enter this contest. If you know any young DC residents in this age range, please encourage them to enter the contest by March 15th.

And remember, there are always opportunities to volunteer at the library!
