Three weeks left to go before the release of Destined, the ninth book in the House of Night series, on October 25, 2011.
While we wait, St. Martin's continues to let the teasers fall into the hands of the anxious fans. This teaser was the highly anticipated first chapter of the upcoming book but also the prologue. This is a common teaser for the House of Night series.

The prologue starts us out with our hero, Zoey Redbird as she realizes that things are continuing to get worse in her world.

The first chapter, though, is not from Zoey but from a new character known as Aurox. Aurox, as we know, is the servant vessel made by the White Bull for Neferet who actually made a grave mistake that let Nyx put Heath's soul into the vessel.
Zoey has had a very challenging life since she entered the vampyre world. From the prologue and first chapter we can now see things are even worse and Zoey has harder choices waiting for her in Destined.
