ProjectNOLA, with its mission "to encourage a sense of community, communications & awareness in the New Orleans metro area," has been making some headway in the last few weeks.
Since expanding the ProjectNOLA non-profit crime camera system, additional communities are now benefiting from the New Orleans crime camera program. In the Hollygrove neighborhood alone, ProjectNOLA observed a decrease in crime where the camera were present in just a three-week period.
ProjectNOLA's crime camera program utilizes an HD camera that is placed on a participant's home or business and in the event of a crime the video may be used by law enforcement. Participants who host a crime camera may also view and record their ProjectNOLA camera's video feed as well.
