A new projection show will light up the classic "small world" facade this holiday season, joining a roster of seasonal additions that includes the recently unveiled Winter Dreams edition of Disney California Adventure's World of Color.
As per the Disney Parks blog, the display will employ the same method of digitally mapped projections introduced in Adventureland's Indiana Jones attraction earlier this year. Beginning on Nov. 12, the clock face will light up the evening as colorful imagery covers the famous ride's geometric exterior every quarter hour. Gears and cartoon cogs fall away to show the holiday wonderment "hidden" behind. Soon classic Christmas orchestrations play over scenes of an elaborate, whimsical toy factory fitted within the facade. Later a gingerbread house builds itself before the audience's eyes.
Combining traditional seasonal imagery with the art of "small world" artist Mary Blair, the new show should prove to be an enchanting addition when it officially premieres this November.
