'Project X Zone' crossing over to North America and Europe this summer (Photos)

Namco Bandai announced Monday that it is bringing its crazy crossover role-playing game, "Project X Zone," to North America and Europe this summer for the Nintendo 3DS.

"Project X Zone" features over 200 characters (50 playable) hailing from franchises in games released by not only Namco Bandai but Capcom and Sega as well. This includes the "Street Fighter" series, "Mega Man," "Tekken," "Resident Evil" and more.

The game was originally released in Japan this past October but is now due out this summer for North America, Europe and Australia. Localization efforts will stick to translating the text while the voices will stick with the original Japanese voice actors.

For those unfamiliar, "Project X Zone" is a strategy RPG where players put two characters on a battle grid to duel with enemies. A third character can be brought in once per battle to help out.

This is a surprise announcement from Namco Bandai as it was thought that the localization effort and licensing issues would have kept "Project X Zone" in Japan.
