‘Project X Zone’ confirmed for North America (Photos)

Earlier today video game publisher Namco Bandai Games announced that the crossover strategy-RPG, “Project X Zone”, would be making its way to North America in the summer of 2013.

Developed by Banpresto and Monolith Soft for the Nintendo 3DS, “Project X Zone” (working title), features over 50 characters from 29 historic game franchises from three of Japan’s iconic gamine companies, Sega, Capcom and Namco Bandai. Gamers will use a team of two characters, known as a Pair Unit, to explore the game world along with an additional character, a Solo Unit, who can assist the Pair Unit in combat as well as augment the attacks available to use. Among the characters included in the game are Jin and Xiaoyu (Tekken), Toma and Cyrille (Shining Force EXA) and X and Zero (Mega Man X).

“Project X Zone” is expected to be available for the Nintendo 3DS in the summer of 2013. More release details should be available in the coming months and screenshots can be found in the slideshow up top.
