Project We Group hosts "Rock The Runway For A Cause" fundraiser

Blue is the new black and in recognition of national foster care month organizers called for guests to wear blue for the 2nd Annual Blue Ribbon Affair hosted by Project We Group. "Rock The Runway For a Cause" promised to put on the hottest New York Style fashion show in Las Vegas.

Held at the World Market Center the charity affair helps support the more than 400,000 young people in the foster care system with 3,000 of those children right here in Las Vegas.

Urban clothing designer Tony Shellman, once a foster child himself understands the challenges facing many foster kids.
"I was very fortunate to be around people that told me "great job" and were very motivational, so that just kind of brings me back to the kids," Shellman said.

"I see the potential in these kids because they have the drive and the passion. That's what it takes. It's our job the help guide that, not even mold it, but just to guide it to keep them on the right track."

Founder of Project We Group Jeff Penix has a committment and passion for making a difference along with a strong belief in cultivating the leaders of the next generation. He feels that a young persons success is impacted by exposure to the valuable experiences and tools that help them advance in life, prepare them to be responsible adults and sustain them in career growth.

As one of the fashion show sponsors, the Las Vegas based shoe company Zappos.com and Zappos.com clothing czar Galen Hardy have been long time supporters of Project We, taking a hands on, practical life approach.

"We bring the kids in, take them on a tour of our corporate offices so they can see what kind of environment we have. We job shadow so they can see just what kind of jobs take place at an e-retalier. They will sit with buyers and listen to how the buyers interact with their vendors, how they produce purchase orders and how they analyze the business," Hardy said.

The vision of Project We - create a world where young people have the chance to Dream Big. To learn more about the programs offered visit ProjectWE group at www.projectwegroup.com/blog or call 702-485-2315.
