With the holiday season creeping closer and funds getting lower, there is always a way to give back no matter what time of year and it doesn't cost a thing except a small amount of your time. Project Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that provides free educational, recreational, and social programs to children and families living with medical challenges.
With the motto of "bringing sunshine to a cloudy day," the bright yellow T-shirts and smiles volunteers wear can brighten up a sick child's day. Most of the magic happens in the recreation room of an area hospital for about an hour each month or in individual rooms. Sometimes when flu season strikes, the chapter leader will coordinate a pizza party where everyone makes craft kits to send to the children in the hospital.
With a home base in New York City, this non-profit is sprinkled throughout the world. With a local based Philadelphia chapter and me currently serving as chapter leader, you can take the sunshine with you wherever you are. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering or contact me via the social media links below.
