In one of the weirdest episodes of "Project Runway" ever, the designers made breakaway clothes for male strippers, Nina Garcia couldn't stop laughing at the horrible garments, and the judges declared no winner because the results were so poor on Thursday's episode, for a series first. But with a pair pants so small they were splitting apart on their own, contestant Amanda Valentine -- sister to Maroon 5's James Valentine -- was sent home as the worst of the evening.
And let me tell you, sister, that was saying something.
The remaining designers were split into two teams of four to design breakaway clothes for the male stripper group, Thunder From Down Under. The results were so bad, that even the contestants couldn't help but laugh during the runway presentation.
But stranger than that, judge Garcia could not stop laughing during the judges' critique when the pants Valentine constructed started popping apart spontaneously. Guest judge Emmy Rossum was able to keep a straight face well enough to make a few constructive criticisms, but it was an all-around embarrassment for the show and the contestants alike, with Heidi Klum telling Rossum "they are normally better than this."
As the designers came back out for judgement, Klum did not mince words.
"Designers, unfortunately our favorite part today was when the clothes were off. Tonight, there is no winner, and this is a Project Runway first."
Valentine got the boot for the extremely poor fit of her pants, not only popping open because they were far too small but way too short, as well. Just a disaster, but she knew that and take the death blow graciously.
