“Project Runway” airs on Thursday nights at 9/8 p.m. (check local listings) on the ‘Lifetime’ cable TV network. The 4th round episode is called, “The ultimate hard and soft” & it aired Thursday night Feb. 14, 2013. Host Tim Gunn mixed up both teams this week. Two designers were hand picked to join ‘The Dream Team’ & one was chosen for ‘Keeping it Real.” Each team had to create fashion designs blending the flower shop & hardware stores together. Each team member had 30 minutes to shop for material with $2,500 & they were given two days for this week’s challenge. Native American designer Patricia Michaels is part of the ‘Keeping it Real’ team. Heidi Klume reminded all the contestants about the fashion industry, “One day you're in & the next day you're out.”
According to the official website of “Project Runway” the full synopsis of episode ‘4’ is right here - “While the teams get a twist - the designers also get a blast from the past when two unconventional challenges are merged into one for their newest challenge - creating a line out of hard and soft materials from the flower shop and hardware store. The legendary ‘Bette Midler’ and fashion blogger Leandra Medine serve as the guest judges.”
Announcement: Super model Heidi Klume who serves as the host of “Project Runway” appeared on the entertainment show ‘Access Hollywood’ Feb. 14. She said that the fashion design contestants will get a chance to show their work on the runway during ‘New York Fashion Week.” That episode will air later on this season.
As the teams swapped designers - Michelle told the TV viewers about her dislike of Patricia Michaels. She can’t stand her because she thinks Patricia is condescending but doesn’t know that she is. Michelle has been on the losing team three weeks running & her designs have never been picked for the top ‘3’ by the judges. Patricia is someone who is harder on herself than on her teammates. She has made the top ‘3’ several times in the last three weeks & she has loads of experience. She doesn’t complain on camera like Michelle does.
Heidi said that this was her favorite challenge of this year. Each fashion design of hard & soft looks had impressed each judge. Both groups came so close but ‘The Dream Team’ was chosen as this week’s winner. ‘Keeping it Real’ came in second place. The winner of the challenge was Samantha who was totally surprised by the win & she is on ‘The Dream Team.’ One of the judges called Patricia’s design “PowWow Chic.” Joe did not convince the judges that his creation was form fitting & was sent home.
Native American designer Patricia Michaels has made it to the 5th round episode & will face new judges, a new challenge & more fashion designs next week.
